Profile Description
Dr. David Toby is an orthopedic surgeon based in Trinidad and Tobago, with a medical career spanning 45 years. He completed his medical education at the University of the West Indies, Mona (1970–1976), and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Scotland. During his time in Scotland, Dr. Toby developed a professional focus on pediatric orthopedic care, working with children with disabilities at the Princess Elizabeth Centre (PEC) in Trinidad and Tobago. He has contributed his services to PEC for over three decades.
In 2013, Dr. Toby was awarded the Chaconia Medal, one of Trinidad and Tobago’s highest honors, in recognition of his service. He is also the Chairman of the Esimaje Foundation, which supports educational and social development programs in East Port of Spain. Dr. Toby is involved in additional charitable projects, including the La Brea Vision of Hope Development Centre and the Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain.
Dr. Toby’s practice includes the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of orthopedic conditions, with experience in both adult and pediatric care. He continues to be engaged in community initiatives and advancing healthcare accessibility in Trinidad and Tobago.
